Spring is in full gear...
Pinot Noir Summit, Sunday, March 2, at Ft. Mason in San Francisco features a selection of 40 pinots chosen by a panel of judges from a huge pool of submissions. Our San Saba Pinot 2006 is one of the selections and we're thrilled. Winemaker, Sabrine Rodems, and consulting winemaker, Jeff Ritchey, will be present to pour samples to 250 lucky pinot lovers who will democratically vote for their favorites of the night. Shootout winners will be announced at the end of the evening. If you love pinot noir, you can't miss this event... now in its 6th year. Google "Affairs of the Vine" for more details.
Savor Dallas - Grand Tasting is Saturday, March 8, at the Plaza of the Americas in downtown Dallas. Eat your way through offerings from the best restaurants in North Texas and then find the San Saba table to enhance the evening. We will have all our newest vintages, including the just arrived San Saba Pinot Noir 2006.
March's Tuesday Tasting is March 25 from 5:30 to 8:30pm at the San Saba Tasting Room and will take an in-depth look at Pinot Noirs of all price ranges. Winemaker, Sabrine Rodems, will explore the range of flavors that come from different growing areas and winemaking techniques. The group is limited to 20 for a more personal experience. $10 per person includes 6-8 wines and heavy hors d'ouveres. No charge for San Saba Wine Club members or wine/hospitality professionals.
Wine Enthusiast's Toast of the Town is a wine and spirits extravaganza that will stop in four cities this year. The tour will be in San Francisco on Thursday, March 27 at the War Memorial Opera House. The VIP tasting is 5 to 7pm continuing on into the Grand Tasting from 7 to 10pm. Taste over 400 wines and spirits partnered with some of the finest area restaurants. Look for San Saba at the Monterey Vintner's table. You will be one of the first to taste the new release of San Saba Sauvignon Blanc 2007.
